Buses salute our war heroes

21st, April 2010

GO Wellington and Valley Flyer are providing free bus travel to veterans on ANZAC Day, Sunday, 25 April.

Anyone wearing a military uniform, war medals or an RSA badge will be entitled to use all GO Wellington and Valley Flyer bus services for free throughout the day.

Zane Fulljames, General Manager Operations, NZ Bus, says the offer of free travel is a small token of appreciation on this day of remembrance.

“ANZAC Day is a very special day for New Zealanders,” says Mr Fulljames.  “It’s a day when, as a nation, we should all take the time to remember and thank those who fought and died to protect the way of life we all enjoy today.”

“At GO Wellington and Valley Flyer we know that ANZAC Day is important to our communities and we wanted to make a small gesture of our gratitude to those who have gone before us,” continues Mr. Fulljames.

“We are delighted to have the opportunity to offer free bus travel to anyone wearing war medals, RSA badges or military uniforms.”

The offer of free travel is available on all GO Wellington and Valley Flyer services throughout ANZAC Day, Sunday, 25 April 2010.  Anyone wearing military uniform, war medals or an RSA badge will be eligible.
