Temporary changes to GO Wellington’s trolley bus services

Wednesday, 24 December 2008 - 3:19pm

From Monday 29 December until Monday 19 January the overhead lines on Bowen Street are being upgraded and realigned. During this period Wellington’s iconic trolley buses servicing Route 3 from Lyall Bay to Karori Park, will be replaced with a diesel bus service.

“The roadwork is essential and good roads are a benefit for us all,” says Zane Fulljames, GM Southern Region.

“The temporary replacement of the trolley buses with a diesel bus service will ensure our passengers receive continuous service during this time,” says Mr Fulljames.

There are also special arrangements being made from Monday 5 January to Friday 9 January to allow major repair and resurfacing work to be completed in Dixon and Taranaki Streets. Diesel buses will replace trolley buses during off-peak hours from 9am until 3pm and again after 8.30pm.
